So guys, finally the content company MOC i.e. Medoc’s movie ‘Bhoolchuk Maaf’ has been released. From the trailer itself, it was clear that it is going to be a full entertainment package with the spice of time loop. Now that the movie has been released in the theatre, let’s do an honest, detailed and full entertaining review of it. And yes… this is not just a review, it is also a little love story – in the name of Wamiqa Gabbi.
Storyline Overview (Spoiler-Free):
The story of the film revolves around ‘Ranjan’ – whose haldi day is repeating again and again. Neither the date changes, nor the fate. Getting stuck in the loop again before reaching the wedding – this is the fun time loop journey of this film. But the fun of the story does not end there, the real blast happens when along with comedy, emotions and a little message also start to show.
Comedy, Timing & Dialogues:
Talking about the dialogues, they are fun! The one liners are such that they will make you laugh in the theatre. The punchlines are very tight and deliver the laughter ride well. Actors like Sanjay Mishra, Raghuveer Yadav have brought life to the supporting cast. The entire second half is full of entertainment – some scenes even remind you of the Tamil film ‘Dragon’.
Wamiqa Gabbi – The Heartthrob Moment:
Now let’s talk about the heart – Wamiqa Gabbi. Brother, I am telling you the truth, when she says in the film ‘Papa maan jao na’… even my soul agreed! Her accent, style, dialogue delivery – she won my heart in every scene. Even Rajkummar Rao might be writing poems for her, even if only onscreen.
Performances:
- Rajkummar Rao once again proves that he is a master of comic timing and confused facial expressions.
- Wamiqa Gabbi is cute and also acts at a high level. Her screenplay looks completely natural.
- Supporting cast – Absolutely brilliant! They do not let the film become light and maintain the atmosphere everywhere.
Music & Technical Aspects:
Now talking about the songs, even though some songs seem excessive, the vibes of ‘Chor Bazaari’ will not be missed in the film. Locations, cinematography and editing – everything is very tight. The tempo of the film does not drop anywhere, and this 2 hour 1 minute film runs full on track without wasting time.
Themes & Hidden Messages:
The film also gives a deep message in a joking manner – especially on marriage, relationships and life decisions. The repeat of the day of haldi tells us that marriage is not just a function, it is a long journey – and sometimes an alert too. Connecting the time loop with the vow to God is also very interesting – and perhaps gives a little spiritual touch too.
Conclusion and Verdict:
Bhoolchuk Maaf is an unapologetically fun, family entertainer that makes even sci-fi concepts like time loops fun in a desi way. It has everything a family film should have – laughter, emotion, light message and cute romance.
Rating: 5/5
If Rajkummar Rao keeps doing the same kind of roles again and again, then yes, there can be some monotony, but this time, brother, it was fun!
