Kapkapi vs Romancham – Real vs Fake? The truth of horror comedy

Ghosts, Ouija boards, and a nonsensical story! Is Bollywood’s ‘Kapakpee’ a cheap copy of the Malayalam film ‘Romancham’? Or is it the perfect package for horror-comedy fans? In today’s video, we will find out why the audience is being duped in the name of ‘remake’

The story of both the films is the same – some friends summon a ghost using a Ouija board, and the real spirit appears. But the difference is in the presentation! While Romancham had a logical backstory, Kapkapi did not have a reason to tell why the heroine’s father died? Who were those boys?

And yes… if you liked Tusshar Kapoor’s ghost saying ‘Mayo-Mayo’, then do let us know… because we liked the ‘quiet’ Tusshar from Golmaal.

Went to the theatre after hearing the name of horror comedy, but neither did we laugh in the comedy, nor did we get scared in the horror! While the ghost of Romancham really created fear, the ghost of Kapakapi… oh brother, this felt like a school play!

Shreyas Talpade tried his best, but the rest of the cast? It seems the director told everyone – ‘Do exactly what the actors did in the original!’ But the soul was missing in the copy!

Friends, if you haven’t seen the original, my advice to you is to watch ‘Romancham’ in Hindi dub! Because there is nothing new in Kapkapi… it’s just the same old pizza with no cheese!

So the simple truth is – if Bollywood has to make remakes, then choose films like ‘Drishyam’ or ‘Ghajini’! By making films like ‘Kapakpai’, the money and time of the audience is being wasted. According to me – 2 stars out of 5 are enough!
