A film that pulled people to the theatres even without watching the trailer, whose hype broke the trending list of Book My Show, and created a stir with a rating of 9.5/10 on IMDb.
Today we are going to talk about that masterpiece, which refreshed the memories of ‘Drishyam’ but with a completely new twist.
A simple taxi driver ‘Benz’, who owns a vintage Ambassador car – black, shiny, but even more interesting is the story of that car.
Benz loves his family, but when his car reaches the police station, the story turns from a simple family drama to a mind-bending thriller.
The film will seem simple till the interval, but from there onwards it takes such a turn that you cannot stop yourself from remembering ‘Drishyam’.

- Unpredictable Screenplay: Just like a magician distracts you and blows your mind in the last trick, the climax of this film is absolutely mind-blowing.

The background score and songs of the film are also amazing. The story is also running in the songs – that is, there is no disturbance, only emotional connection.
Technical & Writing
- Cinematic Symbolism: Jungle, snake, elephant – everything has been used as a metaphor.
- Smart Writing: Five characters in the story – but the real story revolves around the one who is locked in the trunk.
- A little ‘Kantara’, a little ‘Drishyam’, and the whole of ‘Thoderam’.
Final Verdict
If you want to feel a movie, not just watch it – then it is a sin to miss Thodaram.
This is not a movie, it is an experience – 4.5 stars out of 5 from me.
And yes, remember – this movie is not available in Hindi yet, watch it with English subtitles. But the fun you will get from this, you will not get it in any remake.
