So guys, a new heist based movie has arrived on Netflix – ‘Jewel Thief’, in which our Nawab Saif Ali Khan is in the lead role. By the way, while on one hand his son’s naivety story is in discussion, Saif bhai has also experimented a bit too much with this movie.
So without wasting time, let’s quickly talk about this movie.
What is the story of the film?
- There is a diamond ‘Red Sun’ worth Rs. 500 crores, which is being planned to be stolen.
- The thief is Rihan Roy (Saif Ali Khan), Rajan (Jaideep Ahlawat) wants to get it stolen.
- Kunal Kapoor is playing the role of a police officer, who has returned to the screen after a long time.
That means the plot is simple: thief, theft and a failed police system!
Did the film bring anything new to the table?
If you are thinking that this movie is like ‘Money Heist’, ‘Ocean’s 11’, or some tough heist movies from India like ‘Dhoom’ and ‘Special 26’ – then you are wrong.
- There is no proper character introduction in the film, nor is there any emotional connection between the characters.
- The storyline is so predictable that even the twists and turns are not felt.
- The story improves to some extent in the second half, but by then it is too late.
How was the performance?
- ⭐ Jaideep Ahlawat – He has given the best performance in the whole film. His look and acting are really great.
- ⭐ Saif Ali Khan – He always tries something different, but this time he failed. It felt like the electricity bill was high and he had to sign the film.
- ⭐ Kunal Kapoor – It was a chance for a great comeback, but poor dialogue delivery and half-baked character ruined everything.
Is the movie really a time pass?
- Forced comedy has been inserted, which kills the seriousness of the story.
- There is no innovation in direction.
- The screenplay is so basic that even a 2 hour film feels like a 2 day film.
- Finding words like logic, suspense, and character development in the film is a waste of time.

The title of the film is ‘Jewel Thief’ and there is talk of a sequel – “Heist Begins”!
Meaning there is probably a plan to destroy Netflix! 😅
Can we watch it with family?
Yes, there is no vulgarity or obscenity in the film. There are some normal abuses, so one can pass time with family too – if you really want to waste time.

‘Jewel Thief’ is a predictable, slow and logic-free heist movie.
If you haven’t watched any heist movie till date, then you might like it.
Otherwise, it is a big disappointment for fans of movies like ‘Race’, ‘Dhoom’, or ‘Money Heist’.
