The teaser of Housefull 5 has been released and believe me, it seems like this time it is not a film but a full festival! A big cruise, a glamorous party, a great star cast and then… a murder! And with that murder begins this journey of “killer comedy”.
It is clearly shown in the teaser that this is not just a laughter ride but a twisted comedy with suspense and thriller – “You will have to die laughing and catch the murderer by making him laugh!”

The film is being directed by Tarun Mansukhani, who has previously made classic pop-culture comedies like Dostana. He has also been an AD in many of Karan Johar’s blockbuster films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Kal Ho Na Ho.
This time the story is set on a cruise, where the world’s richest people are partying and a dangerous murder takes place there! Now no one can go in and no one can come in from outside – meaning some lie will definitely be caught!
Budget & Box Office Target
This is not a small comedy film. According to reports, its budget is around ₹450 crores, which is the most expensive Indian comedy film ever! This means that unless the collection touches ₹700 crores, it will not be considered a superhit.
Such a budget, such a big cast – and to top it all, Honey Singh’s song “Laal Pari” which plays in the background in the teaser has become a hype factor.
But are there any weaknesses too?
The teaser is great, but one thing that was noted is that despite such a big star cast, the X factor seemed a bit missing. The faces are familiar, there is nothing new in the looks. Only Akshay Kumar’s comic style seemed a bit exciting.
If every actor was presented in a unique way, or if someone had a shocking look, then the impact of the teaser would have been even greater.
